Verhaal

Plant a tree, don’t be a stump! organizes national tree planting campaigns at the local, regional and national level in the Republic of Croatia. So far, we have planted +200,000 seedlings, the intention is to double the number of new trees planted, and we have been awarded several prestigious awards for our activities. We want to continue planting trees in all locations that need revitalization, especially in the yards of schools and kindergartens. We are determined to expand the collective planting of native trees to neighboring countries. In order to ensure the sustainability of the activity, it is necessary to collect 199,085 EUR.

This would cover the costs of planting material, tools and equipment in the tree planting campaign and we start it immediately after fundraising. We offer the opportunity to create the environment as we have only imagined it so far. Sustainable, healthier and greener! Let’s enable cities to shine and do a good thing for the health of the community and generations to come. Among you, we are looking for those who are really ready to act. Immediately and now. Why are trees planted?

Our future should be green!

Trees produce oxygen, protect us from climate change, clean air and water and contribute to the preservation of biological diversity. Every new ticket is a blessing! Let’s respect that and make it possible to plant trees near kindergartens and schools and on public areas in urban areas. By financially supporting this campaign, the association Plant a tree, don’t be a stump! you enable the sustainability of its activities at the local, regional, national and European level.

What will the collected funds be used for?

The goal is to collect 199,085 EUR for the purchase of planting material in the new tree planting campaign in Croatia, which starts in November. In addition to the purchase of seedlings for schools and kindergartens, it is necessary to cover the costs of tools and equipment for the branches of the association Plant a tree, do not be a stump! and ensure stabilization of the Association’s work.

Over ons

We started as a civic initiative in 2019. The initiative was started by Mateja-Angelina Kramar via Facebook. Since then, a national tree planting campaign has been organized every year in Croatia, on public, state and private lands in cooperation with regional and local self-governments. The aim of the association is to complement urban environments with new trees, and in the future to raise new orchards in the courtyards of schools and kindergartens full of autochthonous seedlings.

About the project 

National project “Plant a tree, don’t be a stump!” is carried out throughout Croatia, with the aim of planned planting of as many trees as possible, with the potential of spreading to neighboring countries. In the project, only locally grown seedlings are used. Through planned educational planting of trees, we spread the principles of permaculture and encourage the sustainable use of resources. In addition to the field, we also provide training through our EduTree platform. After the end of the project, we map each location through the GIS system (CROGIS-PANJ), with the number, type and all other associated data. So far we have planted +200,000 trees, with +75,000 different types of participants.

Cost sheet

We need HRK 199,085 EUR to cover the costs:

purchase of seedlings (fundamental goal), tools and equipment, direct work of the organization, applications of the CROGIS system and EduTree platform, establishment of a new public orchard in HR according to the principles of permaculture.

The public recognized the organization as an umbrella organization in Croatia for the organization of tree planting campaigns due to its specifically organized activities at the state level. In addition to the public, the activity is also recognized by the profession. Therefore, the association is the winner of the 1st place of the National Geographic “Yellow Frame” award, and the winner of the award for sustainable development and use of natural resources. Who can remain indifferent to the exclamation, which is both imperative and endearing, “Plant a tree, don’t be a stump!”? The association has a widespread network of social channels distributed across all regions and counties in Croatia, thus reaching a large number of readers and volunteers.

KIn order to make a successful payment, it is necessary to:

After the payment has been made, it is necessary to wait a certain time until the payment is processed and recorded on the campaign page. Payments made by general payment slip or internet/mobile banking are recorded within 1 to 2 working days, and payments made by cards, cryptocurrencies or KEKS Pay within 1 to 12 hours.
